About a dozen people from the Diocese of Oregon and a good number from the Diocese of Eastern Oregon joined a couple hundred other people at the Ecumenical Ministry of Oregon Interfaith Advocacy Day on Thursday.

The morning was spent at St. Mark Lutheran Church in downtown Salem where various advocates spoke on issues of hunger, health care, homelessness and poverty as well as updates on bills dealing with those issues that are up before the legislature. Dr. Bruce Goldberg of the Department of Human Services was the keynote speaker. After lunch the group marched to the Capitol and met with legislators.
